 Paradise Pointe Golf Complex is Kansas City's only public golf facility that offers two challenging 18 hole golf courses plus a 4 hole Academy course. Paradise Pointe consistently strives to offer golfers of all abilities a unique golfing experience. Each of our courses offers exciting views of Smithville Lake along with its natural wildlife habitats. The courses were named in homage to Jesse James, a native to this area. Records show that the James Gang actually lived and frequented this area long before there was a lake. If Jesse were alive today, he would not recognize the lake, but could still navigate the hills and valleys in our area. In fact, he might be able to find one of his old hideouts.  Smithville Lake provides a wide range of recreational activities to accommodate the diverse interests of the general public.
Whether you want to go water skiing, inner tubing, fishing, sailboating or camping, Smithville Lake can accommodate you. Recreation facilities at Smithville are the result of the cooperative efforts of city, county, and Federal governments. Three park areas are administered by Clay County's Department of Parks, Recreation and Historic Sites:
Little Platte area which includes picnic facilities, a swimming beach, a golf course and a marina.
Crow's Creek area which offers camping, picnicking, and boat launching facilities.
The Camp Branch area which has camping, group camping facilities, a swimming beach,
sailboat facilities, mooring sites, a marina and a trap shooting range.
Additionally, Perkins Park, which is managed by the City of Plattsburg, provides headwater fishing access, picnic areas, and ballfields. The Smith's Fork area features stream fishing below the dam.Click here to visit Smithville Lake on the web.
